Flight Delays and Life Realizations

I am writing this as I sit at the almost crowded airport waiting lounge. I am waiting for a flight that should have flown almost half an hour ago and is not expected to fly until three hours from now. This is supposedly the first day of an epic adventure but its started with an epic fail.

As I sit here and look at the people around me, I can’t help but think how this is so much like life in general. No matter how much you plan and how much you prepare, there will be glitches and bumps along the way. You can sit back and accept it or you can choose to throw a tantrum and scream your heart out.

At least I got this view.

But let’s face it. You can scream all you want but if that plane is not ready to take off, what can you do? Sometimes you just have to accept that some things are really beyond your control. Sometimes you have to accept that some things are not meant to take off yet. It’s just not the right time yet.

That plane will fly when it’s ready. Just sit back and make the best out of it. Or get your money back.

Swirling Thoughts

Nobody said life is easy. Nobody said anything is going to be easy. They did say that things will just fall into place. They did say that things will just make sense.

So, difficult but makes sense. Sounds about right.

But what if the pieces starts falling but doesn’t fit? What if after everything that has to happen already happened and it still doesn’t make any sense? What then?

I find it scary when people tell me they trust me to make the right choice, the right decision. Well, I can’t promise to make the right decision but I can promise to choose what I think is best at that point in time. And hope for the best.

You don’t really know if you are making the right decision until after you made it. You don’t know if chose the right door until it is opened and you see what is behind it. The moment you see the consequence of your actions, you’ll know if you made the right choice. You can only hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

It is easy to judge people’s actions when you are not the one experiencing what they are going through. It is easy to say, “they should have done this or that…” if you are just an audience who doesn’t have to go through what they are going through.

See, when you are just watching from the sidelines, your psychological, emotional and mental state is different from those of the people going through the trials. If you think it’s easy and you know better, i’m sure they’d be willing to switch places with you

Not everyone is meant to be a leader. Some are naturals while others are just hopeless. Sometimes I think it is not a question of whether or not you’re willing to lead. The question is, are they willing to follow you?

When I hear someone say, “I am the best person to lead you.” I automatically don’t trust that person. The only people who can determine if you are a good leader are your subordinates. If they say you’re good, then you are good.

At some point in your life you will meet someone who will make you willingly do the things you never wanted to do. It doesn’t necessarily mean love. But it’s something.
