“What’s on your mind?”

Dear Facebook,

You don’t want to know what’s on my mind. Trust me. That’s a territory you don’t want to explore.

Have you ever had moments where your brain would start analyzing itself and you suddenly blank out? Like one moment you have all these ideas then you start analyzing them and before you know it you’re picking your brain and then blank. Just a sudden void. It’s like the brain is afraid to probe itself. Or I’m probably just really craaaazzyyy.

These days I’m thinking of Christmas and what it means to me. You know, really means to me not just the christmas parties and exchange gifts part.

I am usually very excited in the months leading up to Christmas. I am one of those annoying people who looks forward to the first of the “BER” months and officially starts the season from there. But the weird thing is, when the actual Christmas day approaches I get melancholic and depressed. It is just really sad to celebrate Christmas when you are far from the people you love.

I believe that you cannot put a price on real gifts. Gifts are priceless things. It comes with it the love, effort, care and thoughts of the person who gave it to you. When someone gives you a gift, it means you are special to them that despite their busy lives, they took the time to give you something. It doesn’t have to be expensive, it only has to be heartfelt. When a gift is given freely, it is given with love. When it is given with coercion, it’s not a gift anymore. It’s extortion… And that is illegal.
———
If you force someone to give you something expensive against their will, that’s robbery.
If you force someone to give you a gift in exchange for favor, that’s bribery.
If you force someone to give you a gift so you don’t tell the world their secrets, that’s blackmail.
If you force someone to give you a gift by threatening them, that’s extortion.

Last time I checked, these are illegal. 🙂
Point is, wait for people to give you something. Don’t force them. Nobody is obligated to give you a gift.

So, can boyfriends sue their materialistic girlfriends on these grounds?

Blank.
Blank.
Blank.
